The forestry simulators have proven to be a popular attraction at recent events, including the NZ Fieldays, the South Waikato Employment and Skills Expo and the Toi Ohomai Tech Step Expo.
The simulators give students and job seekers a realistic, hands-on experience of operating machinery. This highlights a growing interest in forestry as a career and demonstrates how new technology is making training more accessible and engaging for the next generation.
We want to acknowledge the support from Forest Growers Levy Trust for funding transport and demonstrating costs, Richard Stringfellow of Fit4Work, Min Tobenhouse of FAST Harvesting, Shiree Marshall of Manulife Investment Management and Arona Marsters of Toi Ohomai for supporting the Wood Council at these events.
If you are interested in having a simulator at an event or to utilise for training please contact Damita Mita at damita@cniwc.co.nz.
